Professional Bio
Rangga is a PhD Student Researcher in the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences (MNHS) at Monash University. His current doctoral study and research areas pertain to child welfare, focusing on young people leaving out-of-home care in Indonesia, sponsored by the LPDP Scholarship Ministry of Finance Republic of Indonesia. His research tried to explore what is known about the scope of experiences and outcomes of young people transitioning from out-of-home care in Indonesia. With this study, Rangga will bring forth research and policy discussion in the Leaving Care space, which is almost nonexistent nationally and locally in Indonesia.
Before entering his PhD study, he has 14 years of work experience in different professional positions, performing program evaluation and research, project management, assessment and capacity-building activities, psychosocial intervention, humanitarian assistance, and organizational development. Rangga has been involved in several projects of intersecting health and social care issues in Indonesia and beyond (i.e., mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies, disaster risk reduction, substance use prevention & treatment, child welfare, refugee migrant care, gender based violence, gender equality & social inclusion, mental & behavioral health, reproductive health). He is also a registered and a licensed clinical psychologist in Indonesia.
